she doesn't want to be in debt to anyone whether it's with money or with help. it would be such wasted character potential if she just gave in straight away to asking for help, also it would be so anti-climatic if she was suddenly so easy going and accepting. i don't mean this in a rude way but i don't think you understand her character writing and emotions

second of all she thought arlong was unbeatable so she wanted to keep her friends safe, when nami realized her effort was in vaine she asked for help, nami's personality was complitely fake, its almost as the ANIME TELLS YOU, also watch the anime thats why character development exist you unbearable person that comments shit about her on every episode

Dude I'm up to date now with one piece. still the worst personality out of the straw hats. I understand her character perfectly well. I just don't like manipulative, greedy and self centred characters.

yeah Nami solidified herself as my favorite character. that was nuts. explains EVERYTHING we've seen before... her fixation on money, her drive to constantly steal (during dangerous fights) securing treasure even when trying to save others... the build up to this, was just perfect. and i rarely use that word towards a story's writing.

the scene with luffy putting his treasured hat on her, symbolizing the fact that she's part of it, REGARDLESS of her backstory, was... just wow. i've never held back tears this much. cried like a bitch the previous few eps, but this one just dried me tf out.

this entire episode was perfect. what a show man. i was hooked from the second episode already, but this is just fantastic. def gonna be sold on the entire ride from now on. who wouldve expected Nami, a seemingly simple pirate thief going after treasure, to have such a thought out story. i know i def wasnt fucking expecting it.
